Smeg is the largest manufacturer of retro appliances in Italy. The founder Vittorio Bertazzoni founded the company in 1948. SMEG stands for Smalterie, Metallugiche, Emilane, Guastalla (metal enamel facotry in Guastall, Reggio Emilia). Today, the company is still run by the family of Bertazzoni and is under the leadership of Roberto Bertazzoni. The main location of the SMEG operation is still close to Guastalla.
One of their most popular designs are the retro fridges known as the FAB range. The Smeg red retro fridge is a favorite to many. It comes designed like the 50′s style fridges of old containing curved corners. Their products have been applauded for style, aesthetics, and design.
The red retro fridge goes great with Coca-Cola based themes. They look very good contrasting white backgrounds. They stand out very bright and eye appealing.
The color red also can mean many things such as: brave, pure, happy, luck, and love. Red is used for many warning signs because it stands out very boldly. It will do that same thing in your kitchen. It will instantly be a centerpiece that your eyes will be drawn to.
Lastly, a Smeg red retro fridge can go well with sports based themes and matches well with the following teams: The Nationals, Red Sox, Reds, Cardinals, Cubs, Braves, Rangers, Twins, Red Wings, Canadians, Flames, Devils, etc…
